 Registration Guidelines

Please follow the guidelines below to ensure that you have all the required items to complete registration.

Walk-in registration

 

Walk-in registration is now complete, but there is still a chance to sign up. Please see registration by mail for more details.

 

Registration by Mail

·         Fill out the VYSL Registration form at the link above.

·         Print two copies with your signature on both.

·         Attach a copy of your child's birth certificate.

·         Make a check or money order payable to VYSL for the registration fee.

Registrations received on or before May 31^st will be $100. Registrations received on or before June 1^st will be charged a $15 late fee.

 

Registration Requirements

 

·         Children must be 4 years old before July 31 to be able to play in the 2009 season.

·         Any player who did not play in VYSL last season is considered a new player. All new players must provide a copy of their state issued birth certificates at the registration. The league will need to keep the copy. It does not have to have a raised seal.

 

Registration, Late, & Non-Resident Fees

 

• A late fee of $15.00 will be enforced and charged to all registrations accepted after June 1^st.

• Registration and late fees must be paid immediately to ensure registration is complete.

·         Late Registration begins June 1^st. Players registering after June 1^st are not guaranteed a spot on a team. If a division is full, your child will be placed on a waiting list.  

·         Participants not residing within the city of Vacaville, Vacaville Unified or Travis Unified School District are considered a non-resident and must pay the respective non-resident fee, $5. 

Team Placement

• Players registering after June 1^st are not guaranteed a place on a team.

• Registrations received by the deadline date: Teams will be made up of players in the same age group and same gender, except for you U6 (ie. U7 girls, U11 boys, etc.). Players are assigned to teams based on the school the player attends or the part of town they live. Others are placed to balance the teams as closely as possible.

• If a team is short players, then a late registrant will be placed on a team.

• Players must go through the VYSL registrar to be placed on a team, not through a team’s coach.

• Requests to have your child placed on a specific team or kept with friends are not guaranteed.

Refunds & NSF Charges

 

• All requests for refunds must be in writing stating player’s name, address, date of birth, and reason for request. Requests can be emailed to registrar@vysl.org.

• Refunds will not be issued after August 15, 2009. No refunds will be issued after this date.

• A $20.00 charge will be applied to all NSF payments. Registration will not be complete and player will not be placed on a team until registration and all fees are honored.

Equipment & Start-up Details

 

• Shin guards are mandatory for all practices and games, while cleats are optional. Uniforms (jersey, shorts, and socks) will be provided.

• Coaches will call you when they receive their team paperwork. This is during the last week of July or the first week of August. If you have not been contacted by August 10^th, send an email to registrar@vysl.org.

• The fall season will begin in August. Practices normally start in the first week of August.

• Opening day is August 22^nd. The first game will be August 29^th.

Competitive and Metro 

• The coach or manager of the team will meet with you to arrange registration. Comp and Metro fees are adjusted to reflect the fact that they do not receive uniforms as they purchase uniforms themselves.

Volunteers

·         The league is made up of parent volunteers. Please volunteer to help coach, be active on a committee, or become a board member.

·         VYSL is in need of a Publicity coordinator and a Team Parent coordinator. If interested, please contact registrar@vysl.org.
