Questions about On-Line Registration

ONLINE registration will open on May 1, 2014.  This is a new system but I believe everything will go the way it should.  If you encounter any problems or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.  Thank You all for your patience regarding on-line registration.  As usual, please print out TWO copies of the registration page to mail in and one copy of the new player's birth certificate as needed.  Mail to;

2014 - Fall Season

The Vacaville Youth Soccer League's fall Season will begin on August 23, 2014 with Opening Day.  This is a Saturday.  This event is a lot of fun for the children.  We will have bounce houses, a basket raffle, vendors and yummy food.  Pictures will take place on this day for the younger age groups.  Times TBD.  Lots of help is needed to make this event fun, so please volunteer to help.

Soccer games will begin on September 6, 2014.  Games are primarily on a Saturday. although it not unusual for a team to have a weeknight game.  VYSL runs a 10 game season.  The last soccer game is November 8. 2014.  The following Saturday is reserved for a possible rainout day.

 

 

 

Registration Guidelines

Please follow the guidelines below to ensure that you have all the required items to complete registration.

  1. New players will need to bring a 'COPY' of their birth certificate.
  2. ALL players will need to show proof of Vacaville residency.  Please bring a utility bill and ID.
  3. If printing registration forms on line, TWO copies will be needed to turn in.
  4. Accepted mthods of payment at walk in or mail in registration are, Cash, Check, or Money Order.  Credit Cards are not accepted.

 This year we are providing three methods to register.  Online, Walk In, and Registration by Mail.  (On line registration opening date - TBD)

Registration Costs

  • Early Bird registration March 20th - $120 - Walk In Only.
  • Registration in March and April - $130
  • Registration in May and June - $145
  •  Late Registration, July through August - $155

Registration Dates

Walk-in Registrations -

All Walk-In Registrations will be held at Stars Recreation Center, 155 Browns Valley Pkwy, Vacaville, CA, 95688

Thursday, March 20 (6 - 8pm)  -  early bird price $120, walk in only

Thursday, April 17 (6 - 8pm)

Tuesday, May 6 (6 - 8pm)

Thursday, May 29 (6 - 8pm)

If printing registration form on line, TWO copies will be needed to turn in.  Forms of payment accepted at walk in registration are, Cash, Checks, and Money Orders.  Credit Cards are not accepted.

 

Mail In Registrations

Registration By Mail

  • Fill out the VYSL Registration form at the link below.
  • PRINT TWO COPIES AND PUT YOUR SIGNATURE ON BOTH
  • Attach a copy of your child's birth certificate.
  • Attach a copy of your utility bill and a photocopy of your ID
  • Make a check or money order payable to VYSL for the registration fee.
  • Mail both copies, payment, Birth Certificate, and proof of Vacaville residency to:

Registration Requirements

  • Children must be 4 years old before July 31 to be able to play in the 2014 season.
  • Any player who did not play in VYSL last season is considered a new player. All new players must provide a COPY of their state issued birth certificates at the registration. The league will need to keep the copy. It does not have to have a raised seal.
  • ALL players will need to provide proof of Vacaville residency. Please bring your utility bill and ID.

Late Registration

  • Any registration after June30th, be aware that your child may be placed on a waiting list.
  • Registration fees must be paid immediately to ensure that registration is complete.
  • All paperwork needs to be turned in to ensure that registration is complete.
  • Late Registration begins July 1st. Players registering after June 31st, are not guaranteed a spot on a team. If a division is full, your child will be placed on a waiting list.

Refunds & NSF Charges

  • All requests for refunds must be in writing stating player’s name, address, date of birth, and reason for request. Requests can be emailed to registrar@vysl.org.
  • All refunds given will be, the Registration fee paid, minus a $25 paperwork fee.
  • Refunds will not be accepted after September 1, 2014.  No refunds will be accepted after this date.
  • Refunds that are accepted before September 1, 2014, will be processed and issued after the second week of September.  Once processed, they will be mailed to the address given.
  • A $20.00 charge will be applied to all NSF payments. Registration will not be complete and player will not be placed on a team until registration and all fees are honored.

Team Placement

  • Players registering after June 31st, are not guaranteed a place on a team.
  • Registrations received by the deadline date: Teams will be made up of players in the same age group and same gender,  (ie. U6 girls, U11 boys, etc.). Players are assigned to teams based on a computer selection process. If a team is short players, then a late registrant will be placed on a team.
  • Players must go through the VYSL registrar to be placed on a team, not through a team’s coach.
  • Requests to have your child placed on a team with one buddy will be accepted. This request MUST be reciprocal. Registering a whole team will not be accepted.
  • COACH REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED.

Age Requirements

Children are placed on a team within their age bracket.  A playup must be requested by a parent before season starts.  Registrar must approve request for the request to become reality.

U-19  Born on and between August 1, 1995 and July 31, 1998
U-16 Born on and between August 1, 1998 and July 31, 2000
U-14 Born on and between August 1, 2000 and July 31, 2002
U-12 Born on and between August 1, 2002 and July 31, 2004
U-10 Born on and between August 1, 2004 and July 31, 2005
U-9 Born on and between August 1, 2005 and July 31, 2006
U-8 Born on and between August 1, 2006 and July 31, 2007
U-7 Born on and between August 1, 2007 and July 31, 2008
U-6 Born on and between August 1, 2008 and July 31, 2010

Equipment & Start-up Details

  • Shin guards are mandatory for all practices and games, while cleats are optional. Uniforms (jersey, shorts, and socks) will be provided.
  • Coaches will call you when they receive their team paperwork.  If you have not been contacted by August 10th, send an email to registrar@vysl.org.
  • Practices normally start in the first week of August.
  • Opening Day for our Fall soccer season is August 23, 2014.

Competitive

  • The coach or manager of the team will meet with you to arrange registration. Comp fees are adjusted to reflect the fact that they do not receive uniforms as they purchase uniforms themselves. Please see the VUSC site for details.

Volunteers

  • The league is made up of parent volunteers. Please volunteer to help coach, be active on a committee, or become a board member.
