The VUSC Strikers prove that hard work and determination can pay off. Going into half-time behind by one goal, the Strikers pulled off a 2-1 win against the Gold Country Vipers. Stephen Gloudeman scored 10 minutes into the second half with a 50 yard shot bouncing over the Goalkeeper. This tying goal encouraged the strikers to push on towards a win. With less than 1 minute left the Striker Coaches were preparing for a PK shoot-out with the Vipers. With a shot on goal from Justin Howard, the Vipers goalie blocked the shot with Sean Turner following up to score the winning goal. This was with 18 seconds left in the game. This fight to the end attitude is why the Strikers are the U14 District Cup Champions.
